About Leap Technology
According to the website LEAP Technology was created in 2013 to bridge the gap between Electroactive Polymer (EAP) technology and the applications that it can benefit. They specialise in the development and integration of soft “Rubber” stretch sensors and actuators using new disruptive and versatile EAP technology.
Our Role
Our role was to imagine what is the possible future of their special technique? How would their product transform? To achieve the goal, we are asked to be critical, imaginative and open.
Design Process
Idea Generation
We have a handful of thoughts by thinking and discussing over 5 days. And in doing so, we rehearsed dozens of potential futures in our imagination. These concepts lead us to a key question - What if humans become 40 per cent robotic and we are not able to detect others emotions anymore? Just like a robot executing everything by instructions.
Drinking Emotions
What if the carbon sensor from the product of Leap tech is drinkable? How could it impact senses? Would it be possible to recover what human has lost - empathy? These are the series of questions that pop up in our minds.
To visualize the vision and impact, we made a movie to illustrate this future scenario.
