VOOL is a responsive public space where everybody is welcome in a new rhythm of inclusion. With a system of visual recognition, pedestrians, public and private transportation are guided through sounds and images projected by slip-free LED screens embedded on the ground. The multi-sensorial water stimulation brings people into the immersive experience of calmness, that at the same time creates a new sense of the place.

  • This system proposes a balance between public and private spaces.

  • The use of water projection plays with optical illusion providing an immersive experience

  • Stillness areas in the choreography aim to encourage the use of public space

Problem Space

The project aims at

investigating the dynamics of Hobujaama as the central point of Tallinn for gaining a deeper understanding of the users’ experience and recognizing their needs at this place. This project aims to recognise the need of democratizing the dynamic of the public space in Hobujaama allowing people to feel part of it.  This project tried to find possible solutions for the intervention aiming at strengthening the inclusive public possibilities for places like Hobujama.
